Experienced Educators Who Know Their Stuff and Care About Their Students.

Founded by a parent / teacher / coach who gets it.

Ardis Mangione-Lindley is a teacher who happens to own a business.

She was a classroom teacher for 20 years, the last 15 at Brighton High School outside Rochester, NY. She was first asked to coach a boy through his junior year. His parents and baseball coach knew he understood the material, but there was clearly something standing in his way. Ardis worked with him for 10 months helping him streamline his approach to homework. After watching his success, she applied the same techniques with dozens of other students and Straight-A Coaching was born.

We know there are three kinds of teachers:

  1. Those who know their subject.

  2. Those who like working with kids.

  3. Those who really know their subject
    and love working with kids.

We hire the third kind.

Each of our 40+ coaches and tutors is an experienced and certified classroom teacher with a Master's degree or Ph. D. And of course, they have all passed a background check to provide a safe learning environment online or in person. For one-one-one coaching and tutoring, your child will always meet with the same person so they can feel most comfortable every time.

Our smart and skilled teachers can transform something that’s confusing or dull into an understandable concept. And they do it while their students munch on snacks even giggle every now and then. You have to experience it to truly appreciate how it all works.

Pods help get things done. And we have great snacks.

Imagine how confidently we could have handled our own homework and studying when we were kids if there was a place available for us to work with friends until all our work was done. The Homework House is open for Pods three days a week and staffed by a humanities, math, and science teacher.  Students stop in for an hour or stay from 2:45 to 8:45 to do what they need to do before going home to relax with family.

  • Monthly unlimited hour packages for 1, 2 or 3 days a week
